Pearl Fink Battershell

90, of Indianapolis, passed away October 3, 2013. She was born April 27, 1923, in Kannapolis, NC, to the late Robert and Ida Ellen Henson Fink. Pearl grew up in what is now called Fairfax (The Valley), AL, and married Chester Allen Battershell. Soon after marrying, Pearl and Allen moved to Indianapolis, where they have lived for the past 52 years. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed gardening and preparing all the holiday meals for her family. She was a longtime member of Irvington Presbyterian Church.

Pearl is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Allen Battershell; daughter, Beverly Battershell Strodtman, granddaughters, Stephanie Strodtman and Amber Strodtman Hornberger (Jason); and brother, Marvin P. Fink. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be held Monday, October 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9350 E. Washington St.
