Rose Gertrude Flanagan

Passed away on January 26, 2013 after a prolonged illness. Gertrude retired just last July after 65 years, as an accountant and shareholder of Cunningham and Company, PSC. Her trusted friend and employee, Linda Marsden-Klein, worked for Gertrude for 40+ years and continued to care for her when she became gravely ill.

Besides enjoying the company of many close friends, she was also an avid Indianapolis Colts fan, having held season tickets since the first year the Colts came to Indianapolis. Gertrude touched the lives of many throughout her working career with her keen business mind and professional demeanor. Gertrude's great sense of style and grace, her easy smile, perfect manners and eagerness to listen defined this grand lady.

Born in Avon, Indiana, 88 years ago, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Esther Flanagan and three sisters, Genevieve, Hortense and Melba.

Gertrude was a long-standing supporter of Methodist Health Foundation. Friends are encouraged to make a tribute to the foundation in her honor. Please send memorial contributions to Methodist Health Foundation, Noyes Pavilion, 1800 North Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46207 or on-line at http://www.methodisthealthfoundation.org.

At Gertrude's request, there will not be a funeral service. A memorial service will be held at a later date. To receive an announcement, please contact the law offices of Charles Blackwelder (317) 818-8888, chuck@chuckblackwelder.com.
