Rosemary Dixon Chambers
84, Mooresville, went to her heavenly home on August 5, 2014. She was born October 5, 1929, in Bloomfield, Indiana, to the late Roy B. and Iris (Dobbs) Dixon. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Oma Chambers; brothers, Herman Earl Dixon and Raymond Leroy Dixon; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Barnett and Virginia Dixon. Rosemary lived a blessed life and was married to for 65 years to the late Richard Oma Chambers. She worked as a store manager for Paul Harris and opened the store in Greenwood Mall. She also worked for RCA, Sarkes Tarzian in Bloomington, and JC Penney Company, from which she retired in 1974. She was involved in her community being a member of the Mooresville Order of the Eastern Star, serving as treasurer for fifteen years and as Worthy Matron from 1977-78. She was a lifetime member of the Mooresville VFW Post 1111 Auxiliary and was also a longtime member of Eternal Life Baptist Church. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority and had served as president. Rosemary is survived by her four daughters, Linda Lou Hensley, Jacqueline Sue Shearer, Judith Ann Gagnon, and Teresa Jo Lane; twelve grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014, in the Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory , Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2014. An Eastern Star service will begin at 7 p.m. Rev. Don Endsley will officiate, and burial will be in the Mooresville Cemetery.
