Sarah I. Huntzinger Obituary

Sarah I. "Jean" Huntzinger,

87, of Noblesville, died April 7, 2013, following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Sarah was born September 25, 1925, in Indianapolis to the late Earl A. and Thelma Coyner Wetherald.

Jean was a graduate of Pittsboro High School, Class of 1943 and graduate of Butler University, Class of 1947, with a chemistry-math degree. She was a member and former president of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority's Butler Chapter. She met Merrill R. "Lefty" Huntzinger at Butler and they were married at the ZTA house on June 4, 1948.

Jean was preceded in death by her eldest son, Mark Huntzinger of Bloomington. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Merrill, of Noblesville; a son, Richard A. (Cheryl) Huntzinger of Greenfield; grandchildren, Jesse (Lori), Dylan and Andrew Huntzinger of Indianapolis, Nathan Huntzinger of Noblesville, and Megan (Tony) Huntzinger-Prince, of Bloomington; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Aubrey of Indianapolis; step-granddaughter, Christi (Eric) Lowe and her daughter, Adalyn, live in Noblesville; niece, Tonia Smith (Jasbir) Kalouri and their sons and granddaughter reside in Ohio and California.

Jean was a former member of the Pittsboro Chapter of the Eastern Star. Following graduation from Butler she worked as an assistant histopathology lab tech at Methodist hospital. She also worked in the clerical department of the Indianapolis FBI office and at International Investigators Incorporated. She also was employed by the Operators Union #803 and Manpower Inc.

She was a truly loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and enjoyed many, many friends.

There will be no funeral and arrangements will be through Shirley Brothers Mortuaries and Crematory. The immediate family will celebrate Jean's life at a later date.
