Thomas E. Long

81, Speedway, passed away at home on April 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 10, 1931 in Logansport, to Walter and Eileen Long.

Thomas was a 1949 graduate of Logan Sport High School. He went on to Wabash College, which was interrupted by his service in the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean War. He returned to Wabash College, graduating in 1955. An educator, Thomas worked his entire 37 year career as a dedicated and respected teacher and administrator in elementary education in Wayne Township Shools, retiring in 1991.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donis Long; son, Brad (Debbie) Long; daughters, Marcia Ferguson, Beth (Jeff) King, Julie (Dave) Brosman; grandchildren, Megan, Danielle, Sabrina, Katie, Evan and Hannah and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eileen Long and brother, Richard Long.

A private celebration will be conducted by the family at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Parkinson's Foundation. Services entrusted to Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services , Indianapolis, IN 46221.
