Walter C. Thuer, Sr.
71, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 26, 2014. He was born on May 8, 1942 in Beech Grove, IN to Walter A. and Mildred (Kasper) Thuer.
Walter was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was a member of The Original Circle City Corvette Club, and served in both the Army and Air Force National Guard and Reserves. Walter retired after 28+ years of dedication to Allison Engine Company, and was a member of the UAW Local 933. Walter was loved by all, and had a special fondness of his family and children.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joan (Wilson) Thuer; favorite son, Walter C. Thuer, Jr.; favorite daughter, Elizabeth (Ryan) Harper; favorite grandchildren, Carley Jo and Nathan; favorite great grandson, Jaxon Coy; father, Walter A. Thuer; sisters, Mary Josephine Benson and Theresa Johnson; nieces, nephews; and extended family of the Wilson's.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Thuer; and brother, William John Thuer.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home , 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. Prayers will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 920 Prospect Street, Indianapolis.
