W.C. Hendershott Obituary

W.C. "Sam" Hendershott

94, Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013. Born Jan. 10, 1919 to the late Samuel and Grace Hendershott, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He retired in 1985 from Stewart Warner after 47 years. Sam cherished time spent with his children and grandsons; his hobbies included golfing, fishing, woodwork and yardwork. He was a very active member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two children, Paula (Lew) Fisk, Philip (Corina) Hendershott; two grandsons, Brian (Lisa) Fisk, Sam Hendershott; two great grandchildren, Ashlee and Evan Fisk. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine (Swoboda) Hendershott on July 15, 2003.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon on Monday, January 28 in Calvary Lutheran Church, followed by the funeral at Noon. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery. Arrangements by: G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
