William P. "Bill" Todd
62 of Rushville, died Nov. 13th after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 17th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville. Burial at Rushville's Calvary Cemetery. Military honors at 9:30 a.m. in Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory .
All are welcome to recite the rosary on Friday Nov. 16th at 1:45 p.m. and calling will conclude at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Diana J. Beard, whom he married May 12, 1973; mother, Martha Todd; son, William Matthew; daughter Angela Sue (Jon) Jacobus; brothers, John Todd, David (Ellen) Todd, James (Susan) Todd; sisters, Ann (Kim) Curtis, Cathy (Jay) Coffman, Peggy (Jim) Mull, Rosie (Doug) Osborne, Susie (Marc) Fooksman and Janie (Tim) Starkey. His extended family Mike (Mary Ann) Beard, Debbie Cole, Sally (Joe) Niedenthal and Joseph Beard Jr. also survive. Four grandchildren Alexis, Dinah, George, and Jon
He graduated from Rushville High in 1968 and from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1970. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Japan during the Viet Nam War. He was hired as a Rush County Deputy Sheriff in 1975 and graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He retired from the Rush County Sheriff's Department as a Detective in 1995. Thereafter, Bill served Rush County as the Executive Director of the Rush County Area Planning Commission from 1998 to 2012.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Jo Todd; his father, Pat Todd; mother and father-in-law, Joe and Mary Beard; one brother, Rick Todd and sister-in-law, Connie Todd.
