Lorna D. Harbaugh

Age 94, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday morning, February 28, 2014, at Marquette Health Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born December 20, 1919 in Sheridan, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late C. Roe and Edith (Clements) Hawkins. Lorna was a 1938 graduate of Sheridan High School. She worked for General Electric/Wellman, in Shelbyville, in the production department for several years. Lorna was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She attended St. Paul Methodist Church in Rushville for many years. On April 23, 1938 Lorna married Everett Arles Harbaugh, he preceded her in death on December 10, 1988. She is survived by 2 sons, Ronald D. (Shirley) Harbaugh of Cincinnati, OH and Terry G. (Marilyn) Harbaugh of Port Angeles, Washington; 1 daughter, Janis (Jerry) Gershman of Carmel ; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Rosalie Ogle of Sheridan and Arlayne Knight of Crawfordsville.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 sister: Rowena Dice; 4 brothers: Keifer Hawkins, Malcolm Hawkins, Ishmael Hawkins and Waldemar Clements; 1 grandson: Thomas Harbaugh; 2 great grandchildren: Diana King and Adam Dean and 2 great-great grandchildren: Aaron King and Akira King.

Lorna's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Marquette Health Center and to St. Vincent Hospice for their professionalism and for all of their loving care and concern.

Services will be held at Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan. Reverend V.J. Stover will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the .
