Wanda K. Corey

75, of Indianapolis, passed away March 25, 2014. She was born June 30, 1938 in Springville, IN, to the late Claude and Lydia Helen Meadows McDowell. Wanda married Charles W. Corey, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was longtime member of Post Road Christian Church, previously known as East 38th Street Christian Church and GracePointe Christian Church. She was active in Head Start, her church youth groups and founding the Bud & Wanda Corey Scholarship for Emmanuel students preparing for youth ministry.

Visitation will be Friday, March 28, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. and Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Post Road Christian Church, 1112 N. Post Rd.

Wanda is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Charles "Bud" Corey; children, Cheryl Poole, Michael W. Corey and Cindy Harper (Jay); grandchildren, Bryan and Kara Poole, Reilly Miller, Nathan, Rebecca and Wesley Corey; great-grandson, Connor Welsh; and sister, Sue McDowell. A brother, William McDowell, preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or the Bud & Wanda Scholarship Fund, Emmanuel Christian Seminary, 1 Walker Dr., Johnson City, TN 37601.
