Charles "Ed" Spalding

85, passed away March 29, 2014. He was born August 16, 1928 to the late James V. and Mary A. Callahan Spalding, in Loogootee, IN. He was known as Charlie at Allison Gas Turbine where he retired after 38 years of service. Ed coached, was president and player agent at Community Little League for over 25 years, and helped build the clubhouse. After retirement, he enjoyed family reunions, attending grandchildren's activities, golf and was a loyal IU fan.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Wash ington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 E. 13th St.

Ed is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dottie Spalding; five children, Judy, Vicky, Kathy (Glenn), Fred and Deb; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Ed's nine siblings, preceded him in death.
