Colin J. Achgill Obituary

Colin James Achgill

10-18-95 to 3-23-14

Graced with a gentle temperament, Colin was a friend and confidant to many. He endeared himself through his sharp wit, positive attitude and playfulness. A top student at Lawrence North High School, Colin spoke Chinese fluently after a year as a NSLIY exchange student in Beijing and was a Shelby Davis scholar at UWC Atlantic College in Wales. We remember Colin through music because wherever Colin went he found a piano so that he could share music with new friends. He is deeply missed by his parents, Dennis and Helene Achgill, siblings, Christian, Madeleine, Isabelle, Nathaniel, Eleanor, grandparents Jim and Lucy Achgill and Betty and Carl Meyer as well as by friends spanning four continents. Colin was a true gift who brought hope of a more peaceful world. Services will be at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 4100 E 56th St, Indianapolis on April 12 at 11 a.m., preceded by calling at the church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and followed by a youth celebration at Castleview Baptist Church, 8601 Hague Rd. at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we invite donations to the Fall Creek Valley Middle School band department 9701 E 63rd St, Lawrence, IN 46236 or Concordia Language Villages, 8659 Thorsonveien Rd. NE, Bemidji, MN 56601. Arrangement handled by Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple .
