Isiah "Ike" Robinson, Jr.
85, Indianapolis, passed away on April 6, 2014.
Born in Indianapolis on November 26, 1928, he was the son of the late Josephine Betty Daily and Isiah Robinson, Sr. Ike was a 60 year plus member of Barnes United Methodist Church. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service following 30 years of employment and retired from Stuart Mortuary following 20 years of service.
Ike was an honorably discharged veteran of the Korean War, having participated in the atomic bomb testing at Frenchmen Flats during the 1950's. He was a graduate of Crispus Attucks High School, Class of 1947.
He was a member of Barnes United Methodist Men; the National Association of Atomic Veterans; U. S. Postal Union, Branch #39; American Legion, Tilman S. Harpole Post #249; I.B.P.O.E.W., Indiana Lodge #104 and the Betty Boys, a group of north side students who first met in grade school and remained friends over the years.
On Friday, April 11, there will be a Celebration of Life service at Stuart Mortuary Chapel with visitation from 10 a.m. to Noon . Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years who was his high school sweetheart, Margaret Jean Bledsoe Robinson and daughter, Angela Josette Robinson.
