Helen Elizabeth Morgan Steinmetz
84, of Fowler, Indiana, died peacefully in her sleep at Hooverwood, Indianapolis, Indiana on Wednesday, April 30th 2014.
Helen was born in Brownsville, Texas on November 16th 1929.
She grew up in Oxford, Indiana and graduated from Oxford High School. She moved to Fowler and was married to Robert (Steiny) Steinmetz for 58 years. Robert preceded her in death in July 2010. Helen worked for many years in the Benton County Courthouse, for Circuit Judge Perry Shipman and several county clerks.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her children, John (Liza) Steinmetz of Falls Village, CT, Susie (Allan) Rachles of Zionsville, IN, Sara (David) Tennery of Atlanta, GA, and Jackie Steinmetz of Fowler, IN; grandchildren include, Otto Steinmetz, Sara Rachles, Alex and Paige Burgett, Katie (Brett) Kult, John (Kayla) Gretencord, and Jake Gretencord. Helen is also survived by her brother, George Ralph Morgan of Castro Valley CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fowler, Indiana on Monday, May 26 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. until time of service.
