Richard Reynolds "Dick" Huffine
82, was called home to God and reunited with his loving wife, Eleanor, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage.
Dick attended Crooked Creek Elementary and graduated from Broad Ripple High School. He retired in 1994 from a successful sales career at AM Intl Multigraphics division where he won numerous 100 Club Sales Awards. He was a well-known member of Christ the King (CKS) Catholic Church for 59 years.
His legacy of joy was his family of 10 children and 19 grandchildren! He loved to spend time with family and friends at Palisades Park, MI, and Casey Key, FL. He was an Eagle Scout, member of Universal Club, a Precinct Committeeman, and a coach extraordinaire at Haverford Little League and at CKS. Dad loved water aerobics and lunch with his "Swimbuddies". You could always hear Dad cheering on his kids and grandkids at their athletic events. He was an avid Indy Car/Nascar fan. Dick led a full and wonderful life and always believed: "if you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money cannot buy".
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor and his youngest son, Tommy, as well as his parents, Charles and Faye Reynolds Huffine and brother Robert. He is survived by his 9 children: Sally Breen (Mike), Laurie Breen (Joe), Richard Jr. (Angie), Matt (Susan), Steve (Carolyn), Joe (Lisa), Brian (Cheryl), Nick, and Amy Lezon (Gene). He adored his 19 grandchildren: Michael II, Michelle, Claire, Kevin Breen; Richard III, Mary, Amanda, Emily, Erica, Patrick, Jackson, Hunter, Abbie, Lauren, Holly Huffine; Heather, Ryan, Sarah, and Josie Lezon. Survivors also include his sisters, Charlene Roach, Janet Crider Pitcock, and Marilyn Landon.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 8th, from 4-8pm at Shir ley Brothers Mortuary at 9900 Allisonville Rd. A funeral mass to celebrate our father's life will be Friday, May 9th at 11am at Christ the King Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior at CKS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to "Principle Funds" for the Dick and Eleanor Huffine Scholarship Fund which benefits Catholic High school students.
