Jean L. Rich

89, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2014. She was born to Lars and Karen Lindahl on Dec. 4, 1924, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. Ever the devoted mother, Jean relished her role as a homemaker yet, when widowed in 1971, forged a career as a licensed Realtor to support her family. Pretty and vivacious, Jean attracted friends of all ages with her wit, warmth and playful spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, husband H. Richard Rich (an Eagle Scout - source of lasting pride to Jean), daughter-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Rich and son Clayton Rich. Survivors include son Gregory; daughters, Penny (William) Paraskevas and Laura (Marlin) Wilson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also is survived by her steadfast companion of 25 years, Robert Hendrickson. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jean's life at a memorial service on Saturday, May 31, at 4 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary, Carmel Chapel . Visitation is set for Friday, May 30, 5-7 p.m. at the same location, and also on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
