Dallas Wampler

85, of Avon, passed away May 29, 2014. Dallas served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a wreck master and supervisor for Pennsylvania Railroad and successor railroads for 42 years. He was a member of Avon United Methodist Church and was a fireman with the Avon Volunteer Fire Department. Dallas was a Boy Scout Volunteer for Troop 306 and drove a tractor for the fall festival at Beasley Orchard in Danville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda J. Wampler. He is survived by a son, J.D. (Donna) Wampler; a sister, Joan Wampler Blackwell; grandchildren, Nicholas and Amelia Wampler; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday June 2, 2014 in Conkle Funeral Home Avon Chapel with visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
