Mary Charlotte Grinslade
Indianapolis native, Mary Charlotte Grinslade, was born to Rosemary (Zimmer) and Donald Massa on March 24, 1929. She was 85 years old when she died on June 11, 2014. Her husband, Charles O. Grinslade, Jr. preceded her in death in September of 1996.
Mary's duties as wife and mother did not keep her from being instrumental in helping to develop the first Indianapolis Children's Zoo. She served as President of the Zoo Guild for several terms. She was also a Life Member of the St. Margaret's Guild.
She is survived by daughters, Christine Grinslade, Kathy (Grinslade) Davis; son-in-law, William F. Davis, Jr.; grandchildren, Sean Noone, Michael Wolf (Erin), Melissa, Matthew, and Marcus Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Noah and Adam Wolf.
Visitation with the family begins at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 4100 East 56th Street, Indianapolis on Monday, June 16. The Funeral Mass immediately follows the visitation at 12 p.m. Internment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
