C. Robert "Bob" Freese

86, of Indianapolis, passed away June 23, 2014. He was born November 4, 1927 in Bartholomew Co., to the late James W. and Margaret Jones Freese. Bob was a 1945 graduate of Moral Township High School, Shelby Co. He served his country in the U.S. Army with the occupation forces in Japan at the end of WWII, honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Bob married Elsie J. Meyer, June 16, 1951 and began his banking career with Wanamaker State Bank in 1955. He retired in 1988 from Bank One as a Vice President and Trust Officer.

Bob was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church, serving in various church offices and was the 7th & 8th grade basketball coach for 10 years. He and his wife enjoyed playing golf, and traveling, they visited all 50 states.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 6630 Southeastern Ave.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elsie Freese; son, Kirk Freese; daughters, Karen Leffler, Kathy Wolter (Mike) and Karla Freese; grandchildren, David Wolter (Jennifer), Darlene Rodriguez (Harry), Tara Freese, and Kyla Eaton (James); great-grandchildren, Cenzo and Santino Serger, and Jackson and Ava Eaton; sisters, Juanita McNeely (Wilmer), Charlotte Ogilvie and Nancy Freese; and brother, Jack Freese. A sister, Kathleen Hargrave; brothers, Richard and James; and a grandson, Daryl Robert Wolter, preceded him in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Athletic Fund, 6630 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46203.

Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel.
