Bonnie E. Quackenbush Nugent

93, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 8, 2014. She was born in Bedford, IN on April 18, 1921, to the late Benjamin and Edith (Allen) Quackenbush. She was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and Bedford Business College, where she met her late husband of 45 years, Thomas E. Nugent, who died on January 19, 1984. Bonnie was employed by the U.S. Government for 35 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the American Legion Aux. #465, VFW Aux. #2999, Moose Lodge #17 and the Eagles Ladies Aux. She is survived by her two children, John R. (Donnita) Nugent of Knightstown and Sharon (Sherrie) L. (Robert) Lane of Indianapolis; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred A. Ponsock of Dewey, AZ; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Donald Sweeney, who passed away on December 13, 2011. Memorial services will be on Saturday July 12 at 1:00 p.m. in Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary , with a memorial gathering from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
