Carrie Belle Potts-Brown

96, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 17, 2014. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church.

At the age of 16 she graduated from Crispus Attucks High School. She worked as a Clerk at the Indiana State Board of Health from 1951 - 1953; Later she worked as Administrative Secretary from 1954-1983 - Dean of Students of Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL She earned her BA degree in Labor Relations in 1976, and her MA degree in Urban Studies - Cum Laude in 1981, both from the Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL.

She was active member of a myriad of organizations, including but not limited to: President, OPEIU, Local #391 - 1969-1983, Roosevelt University; Phi Delta Kappa, Chicago, IL; PUSH; NAACP; Urban League; SCLC; Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW); Heritage Place; Indianapolis Chapter-National Council of Negro Women.

She is survived by her sister, Daisy J. Burking.

Memorial service will be on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 1825 East 25th St. with calling from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
