Mrs. Gloria Walker Ransom

86, Indianapolis, passed away on August 5, 2014. Gloria was a lifelong member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, and served as President of the January Birthday Club. She was a member of the Women's Usher Board, the Trustee Board, the Missionary Society, the Lay Organization and active in church conventions. She was also a member of the Quettes and Pioneers of America.

She retired from Western Electric in 1985 after 32 years of service. She previously worked at Wm H. Block Dept. Store, and RCA. After retirement she became a licensed cosmetologist and also worked for CICOA.

On Monday, August 11, there will be visitation from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 414 W. Vermont St.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Barnett Campbell (Millard), Sharon Y. Chisolm and LaMont Rhem, Sr.; stepchildren, Frances Elaine Ransom-Parker, Janet Ransom and Dr. Frederic G. Ransom; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Greta D. Walker, Claybron Walker Sr., Alonzo B. Walker (Deborah), Darlene Clark (Frank) and James B. Walker, Sr.
