Don affected hundreds of lives through his forty years as a pastor of churches in Kansas, Illinois, and Indiana. He touched hundreds more through his later work as a counselor and almost quarter-century service to the ManKind Project, serving as leader, elder, pot-scrubber, and chairman among other tasks. He touched many more through his books Wisdom for the Journey and Hunger for Wholeness.

Don attended Phillips University for his undergraduate and ministerial degrees, and later attended the University of Chicago and the CG Jung Institute in Zurich for advanced training. He was active in the civil rights movement in the 60's and chaired the Human Relations Commission in Rock Island, IL. This led to many years of working with groups in the 1970s and 80s, focusing on positive handling of conflict in school settings.

He loved to read and think and talk and swear at the Cubs. But what we who survive will likely miss most of all is simply sitting and talking and enjoying his humor and wisdom. Services entrusted to Legacy Cremation & Funeral Service- Morris St.
