Norma "Jean" Cassaday

84, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014. Born January 18, 1930, Jean was a lifelong resident of Speedway, Indiana. Graduate of Speedway High School, member of Speedway Christian Church, and the American Legion 500 Post Auxiliary. She was active in the IMS Old Timers Wives Group and enjoyed golfing with her league at Brickyard Crossing. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Fred Newsome; and her sisters, Sarah Seeley and Halena Newsome. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bob Cassaday; her children, Robyn Lawrence (Steve) and Randy Cassaday; her sister, Patricia Ritter; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday August 13, 2014 in Conkle Funeral Home Speedway Chapel , with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital or St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital Pet Ministry, 8050 Township Line Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
