Dorothy Ann Belcher

91, of Lebanon and formerly of Carmel, passed away August 14, 2014, at Homewood Health Campus.

Dorothy was born April 23, 1923 in Grand Rapids, MI, a daughter of the late William and Dora (Sigmon) Bartlett. She married Morton E. Belcher in 1948. He preceded her in death in 2007.

Dorothy graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis and attended Indiana Business College. She worked for Farmers Mutual-Meridian Insurance in Indianapolis and then McClure Insurance in Lebanon. Dorothy enjoyed roller skating at one time and also liked jigsaw puzzles and word search puzzles. She was a charter member of Devington Baptist Church and a current member of Castleview Baptist Church in Indianapolis. She volunteered for the Arthritis Foundation.

Survivors include her children: Judi (Lynn) Wilson of Lebanon, David (Marilyn) Belcher of Gosport, IN, Roger Belcher and Jan Belcher of Carmel; grandchildren: Christina (Joe) Neff of Lebanon, Stephanie (Bud) Wirey of Lebanon, Sean Wilson of O'Fallon, MO., Matt (Mary) Belcher of Tampa, FL, Rob (Amber) Auman of North Salem and Bruce (Carol) Johnson of Thorntown; great grandchildren: Zachary Neff, Olivia Neff, Luke Wilson, Bohdan Wirey, Arbor Auman, Parker Auman, Matthew Johnson and Trevor Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Barbara A. Musgrave and grandson Christopher Belcher.

Family and friends will gather Tuesday, August 19, 2014 for visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and services will be held Wednesday, August 20 at 10 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary , 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens Cemetery in Whitestown.
