Opal Royce McClain
92, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Madison Health Care in Indianapolis. She was a longtime resident of Greenwood.
She was born November 4, 1918, in Southport to Irwin Belk Royce ad Mary Jennings Royce. She married Lawrence E. McClain, who preceded her in death.
Opal was a graduate of Greenwood High School, Class of 1937. She worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company, Greenwood School Corporation, and Sears.
She had been a member of Greenwood Christian Church since April 3, 1932.
Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Schlicher of Greenwood; one grandson, AJ (Amber) Schlicher of Cincinnati; and brother, James Irwin Royce of Greenwood.
Rev. Shan Rutherford and Rev. David Strange will conduct a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. on August 17, 2011 Wednesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory , 481 West Main Street, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 16. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood Christian Church, Operation Care, 2045 Averitt Road, Greenwood, IN 46143.
