John P. Caporale
53, died at his home Monday, February 13, 2012 after a courageous 20 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born July 5, 1958, in Community Hospital in Indianapolis. Indianapolis is where he lived for his entire life. John was 1976 graduate of Center Grove High School. He was a professional carpenter and business owner at (CAPO) Custom Cabinet Millwork until he was forced to retire due to his illness.
John enjoyed family vacations, cherished time spent with his family and friends, and often times he was the life of the party. He enjoyed sports: playing football, baseball, basketball, skiing, and boxing; competing in the Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament.
John was an accomplished blues harmonica player, performing on occasion at local nightclubs in the Indianapolis Area.
John is survived by his mother, Marylouise Sgro-Caporale; three sisters, LouAnn Freeman (Danny), Nancy Caporale-Tucker (Ken), Theresa Caporale-Graham (Dennis), and two brothers, Michael Caporale and Paul Caporale. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many life long friends. John was preceded in death by his father, Louis G. Caporale, and his niece , Julie Caporale.
Visitation for John Caporale will be held from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 15 in G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 South St. Rd 135. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday morning, February 16, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Old Meridian St., Greenwood, with visitation there from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. John will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery.
