Virginia Sue King Smith
92, of Indianapolis, passed away July 19, 2012. She was born April 1, 1920, to the late Harold and Berniece (Llewellyn) Parker.
Virginia was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School. She married G. Edward King April 1, 1938, and he preceded her in death February 7, 1988. She married her second husband, Robert T. Smith, and he also preceded her in death. Virginia was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of North United Methodist Church, longtime member of the African Violet Club, loved making crafts, especially baskets, and caring for homeless animals. Virginia was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from 12 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel , 5377 E. Washington St.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Donald King, John (Stella) King, Jerry King and Kevin (Susan) King; siblings, Mary Lou, Sally, Phil, Hal and Sandy; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter-in-law, Prudence King, also preceded her in death.
