Inta Aina Celmins
81, Greenwood, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 in Greenwood. Inta was born in Europe on November 12, 1930 in Riga, Latvia. Inta was a refugee from WW II. Her family was one of the first to be brought to the United States by the Church World Service to be placed with a Lutheran church sponsor in Indianapolis. Inta, her father, mother and younger sister Vija, were the beginning of a group of Latvian immigrants who eventually formed a large community still present in the Indianapolis area today. Inta was employed at Eli Lilly for many years while taking classes at Indiana School of Law. She passed the bar in 1972 and worked as a probate and tax lawyer for some years before turning to real estate in the mid 70's. She began her career at AHM Graves. She later joined Remax around 1990 where she remained until her retirement in 2010. She was a very hard working and successful agent who was dedicated to her client's happiness. She was a member of MIBOR (Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors), IAR ( Indiana Association of Realtors) and NAR ( National Association of Realtors).
Inta leaves a sister, Vija Celmins, an artist who lives in New York City, and two sons, Andrew Arbuckle and Arthur Arbuckle, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Aaron Arbuckle.
Inta was a very vibrant woman and all who knew her will miss her greatly.

I knew Inta since 1961. We ran around together, partied hearty, we laughed and cried together. Sure had good times.
