Helen Hedegaard Hoehn
90, Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012. Helen was born on March 15, 1922 in Seneca, WI to the late Ingemen and Amy (Hays) Hedegaard. Helen attended Eau Claire State Teacher's College, where she was part of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She later married her college love Marvin M. Hoehn, Brackett, WI, in 1944. They moved to Indianapolis so Marvin could assume his position with Eli Lilly and Company.
Helen was a teacher in Watertown, WI. She was a past member of Mud Creek Players Association, Indianapolis, a long-time volunteer at Connor Prairie Historical Village, a docent at the Indiana State Historical Society, and a docent at the Hoosier Salon. She was a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church, as well as a long-time member of the Inwood Park Chapter, of Travel Study International.
Helen is survived by her loving children: William Hoehn (Carol), Elizabeth Moll (Daniel), and Theodore Hoehn (Susan Parks); step-brother Howard Peterson; grandchildren: Zola Hoehn, Evan Schwamb, and Erin Voss; and great-grandson Benjamin Voss.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Marvin of 61 years.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 2201 E. 106th Street, Carmel, IN at 11:00 a.m.
