D. Stanley Geiser
86, of Indianapolis and Ft. Myers, FL, died February 19 in Ft. Myers. He was born to Christian B. and Bertha Geiser at Orrville, OH, June 22, 1926.
"Stan" is survived by his wife, Floramae "Rusty" Geiser and three children: David (Diana) of Ft. Myers, FL, and Andrew (Jeanne) and Tamara (Dennis) Gallet both of Zionsville, IN. Stan had seven grandchildren: Christian, Orlando, FL; Alexander, Las Vegas, NV; Chase Geiser, Ft. Myers, FL; Bryan Gallet, Indianapolis IN; Allison Epp, Westfield, IN; Matthew and Joshua Geiser, Zionsville, IN. There are three great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Doris Swinehart, Wooster, OH; Lucille (Edward) Randall, Northboro, MA; Lois (Byron) Gerber, Orrville, OH, and Virginia (Harold) Cocanower, Greenville, SC.
Stan served in the U.S. Navy for two years as a pharmacist's mate and was honorably discharged in 1946. He graduated from Ohio State University with a B.S. degree in economics and from Iowa State University with an M.S. in technical journalism.
After three years on the editorial staff of Meredith Publishing Company, Des Moines, IA, Stan moved to Eli Lilly and Company for a career of 31 years in both the pharmaceutical and agricultural areas. He was director of marketing for agricultural chemicals in Lilly's Elanco Division in 1967 and in 1973 was made Director of agricultural communications for Elanco.
After his retirement in 1986, Stan counseled small businesses through SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) for 13 years. He also served on the boards of The American Lung Association, Pike Township Residents Association and Eagle Creek Park Foundation.
A memorial service was held February 23 at Peace Lutheran Church, Fort Myers. A memorial service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Indianapolis, will be held later in the spring. Memorial gifts may be directed to the church. Arrangements are by the National Cremation and Burial Society.
