William L. Parker

88, Indianapolis, passed away March 17, 2013. William was born in Norfolk, VA in 1924 to parents, William and Harriett (Cowdin) Parker.

Bill attended Wabash and Indiana Business colleges, and was president of Von Duprin, Inc. Bill was well known in the community and was involved in different memberships such as VFW#1003 (Carmel); American Philatelic Society; France & Colonies; American Revenue Association; CB Veterans of America; the Indianapolis Stamp Club; a former member of 1st Meridian Heights Presbyterian church, and a former member of the Civil War Round Table (Indianapolis Chapter). Bill proudly served in the US Navy Seabees in WWII and Korea.

Bill enjoyed stamp collecting, building ship and airplane models, reading, listening to jazz, genealogy, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Bill was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his children Stephen (Denise) Parker, Andrew (Grace) Parker, Sally (Dale) Palsa, Brother; Robert A. Parker, sister in law; Patricia Barce, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary H. (Barce) Parker and parents William and Harriett (Cowdin) Parker.

Memorial services will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday March 21, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple 1305 E. Broad Ripple Ave.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Terry Henderson for his loving care and friendship for the last 30 years. The family would also like to thank the caregivers of Spring Mill Meadows for their excellent care.
