Buss Moore, Jr.

62 of Indianapolis passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at his home. He was born December 11, 1950 in Glendale, West Virginia. to the late Buss Sr. and Ada (Truex) Moore. Buss was a 1968 graduate of Powhatan Point High School in Ohio. He entered the U.S. Army on February 12, 1970 and served throughout the Vietnam War. Buss was a three time recipient of the Purple Heart, one Bronze Service Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal and Sharpshooter, Expert pistol. Buss was also a three time nominee for the Congressional Medal of Honor. After a six year career with the U.S. Army Buss was employed by Consolidated Coal from which he retired in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was a longtime member of United Faith Baptist Church in Acton, IN.

He is survived by his wife; Sherry (Rothwell) Moore of Indianapolis, sons; Buss (Amanda) Moore III of New Palestine, Thomas (Pamela) Moore of Indianapolis, Michael Neer of Ohio, Lathropnorris "Bumper" White of Ohio, John Kennedy of West Virginia and Gary (Tammy) Wrightsman of Indianapolis, daughters; Ada Moore (Roger Phillips) of Indianapolis, Misty Moore of Bordon, IN, Lori Kennedy of West Virginia, Dawn Spears of Greenwood and Julie Freedle of Indianapolis, brothers; Mike (Judy) Moore, William (Cindy) Moore and Tom (Cheryl) Moore all of Ohio, sisters; Geraldine (Richard) Sponaugle, Donna Foltz all of Ohio and Peg (Dan) Helton of Florida, twenty one grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buss, 2/11/1958 and Ada, 3/21/1995.

Services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday March 30, 2013 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C.
