Alice M. Petr

91, of Noblesville, formerly of Mt. Prospect, Homewood, and Berwyn, Illinois, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at home. Alice was born on March 22, 1922, to John and Mary Suda, in Chicago.

After high school graduation Alice worked in business offices until her marriage to Otto Petr in 1944. She and Otto had been neighbors in Berwyn since age three, being classmates and chums throughout childhood.

Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and homemaker. She was loved by all with whom she came in contact. She was a woman of letters, a voracious reader of the newspaper and solver of its jumbles, a wonderful cook, and warmly welcomed all who entered her home.

Alice is survived by Otto, her beloved husband of 68 years. She is also survived by three adoring children, Otto J. Petr III of Naples, Florida, Leslie (Petr) Corcoran of Noblesville, and John J. Petr of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, David and Susan Petr, Wiley, Kevin, and Conor Corcoran; and six great-grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Olivia, and Ava Petr, Shelby and Kaitlyn Corcoran. She is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Suda.

Calling will be on Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville. A funeral will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at Warren Park Presbyterian Church (where Alice and Otto were married), Cicero, Illinois. A private burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Forest Park, Illinois.
