Brenda S. Wesler Obituary

Brenda Sue Scott Wesler

57, of New Palestine Indiana, died late Sunday afternoon surrounded by her loving family.

Brenda was born in Richmond, Indiana, on August 9, 1955, to Elmer and Marjean Scott. She was raised near Eldorado, Ohio, by her mother and step-father, Walter E. Ruby. On May 12, 1972, Brenda married her high school sweetheart, Mark D. Wesler of New Paris, Ohio, at St. Paul UMC in New Paris. She graduated from National Trail HS in 1974. Although Brenda did not marry a pastor, she became a pastor's wife when Mark entered the ministry. And a perfect pastor's wife she was. She developed and started Children's Worship in the churches Mark served. She also directed VBS and Children's Christmas musicals. Hundreds of children have been blessed because of the gift God gave her in working with children. She was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church in Jamestown, Indiana. Her jobs included working in the TOTS program at Westfield-Washington Schools in Westfield, the Area 9 Agency on Aging in Richmond, and various doctors' offices over the years. Brenda was a true servant of God, always putting the needs of others before her own needs.

Survivors include her husband, Mark; daughters, Marci (Trent) Theobald of Brownsburg Indiana; Candace (Elijah) Williams Adams of Franklin Tennesse, and Jocelyn (Eric) Fowler of New Palestine; grandchildren, Colby and Nicaeli Theobald, Jesse and Gracie Williams; siblings: Ken Scott, Laurie Scott, Walter Ruby, Mary Lou Hale, and Linda Ruby; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday June 12, 2013, from 4-8:00 p.m. at Doan and Mills Funeral Home , 790 National Rd. West, Richmond, Indiana. A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013 in the funeral home, with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Jamestown UMC, P.O. Box 173, Jamestown, IN 46147 or St. Paul UMC 301 East Main, New Paris, OH 45347.
