Merville L. Warnock
85, Carmel, passed away on August 23, 2013. He was born to Edna B. and LeRoy Warnock on February 25, 1928, in Howard County. He graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1946, served in the Army during the Korean War, and then obtained his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1957 and his Masters of Engineering in 1960, both from Purdue University.
He worked for Bell Laboratories and retired after 31 years from Alcatel-Lucent. He was an active member of the Purdue Alumni Association, the John Purdue Club, the Sertoma Club of Broad Ripple, and was a long-time member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
Merville is survived by his wife of 56 years, Arda Berle Warnock; son, Alan L. Warnock of Melbourne, Florida; son, Brian J. Warnock (Diane) of Indianapolis; and daughter, Pamela A. Smith (Jeff) of Kingwood, Texas; as well as grandchildren, Hannah, Emily, and Shelby Warnock of Melbourne, Florida, Morgan and MariClaire Warnock of Indianapolis, and Ashlyn and Jarrett Smith of Kingwood, Texas. He is also survived by his twin brother, Melvin Warnock of Cincinnati, Ohio, and was preceded in death by his sister, Willodean Rennaker; and three brothers, Raymond "Pete" Warnock, Glen "Dale" Warnock and Ronald "Ed" Warnock.
Visitation will be at Flanner and Buchanan - Carmel (325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel) on Thursday, August 29th from 4:00 to 7:00. Services will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church (100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis) at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 30th, with calling 1 hour prior. A reception will follow after service. He will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to the Sertoma Club of Broad Ripple or St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
