Of Indianapolis, IN, died on September 18, 2013. She was born in Indianapolis to Catherine and Levi McClain, on December 20, 1939. She was the fifth of six children, Donna Cothron, Jack McClain, Patricia Reckley, Joyce Volpp and Tom McClain. She was a graduate of St John's Academy and worked at Lawyer's Title before having her daughters, Theresa and Kathleen.
Mary married Thomas Catterson in November 1962 and they began their lives in the car business. Mary devoted much of her time to her family and working in the service department of the family dealership. She enjoyed planting flowers both at home and at work. She loved spending time with her grandchildren; Joey, Kathryn and Tommy. Mary will be remembered for sending birthday and special event cards to everyone and anyone she met, always remembering anniversaries and special dates of those she loved, and always having a kind word to say. One of Mary's greatest traits was her heart and how she shared it with the world. Her random acts of kindness were unrestrained and were great visions and if you were lucky enough to know her you were almost certain to witness to one of these unselfish and astounding acts. She touched so many and left no heart un-warmed.
Mary was an extremely strong, caring, generous, selfless, and faithful person. She was an inspiration to all she met. Many people have said that she truly touched their lives. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, nieces, nephews and those who came to know her as "Grandma Mary." Mary will be remembered for so many things, but her sensitivity to the needs of others will be her legacy.
