C. Edward "Eddie" Taylor

80, passed away October 4, 2013. He was born November 13, 1932, in Indianapolis to the late Charles and Edna (Rider) Taylor.

Eddie was a 1950 graduate of Tech High School. He received his B.S. in Business Education from UIndy and his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Indiana University School of Law. He also held a Real Estate Broker's license. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Eddie had been an Attorney for the State of Indiana and worked for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. During this time he was instrumental in reducing air pollution in northern Indiana, where the steel mills are located. For many years he owned his own construction business, worked for H & R Block Co. and in retirement worked at the Wanamaker Feed and Seed.

He was a past member of the Franklin Township Civic League, and for years was a Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of the Tech Endowment Fund Finance Committee and also a member of the Indiana and Indianapolis Bar Associations. He was recognized for his service to the Tech High School Alumni Board by receiving the Anderson Award and the Duane Blankenhorn Award. He received many other awards too numerous to mention.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Lewellen) Taylor; daughters, Cindy (Daniel) Kleyn and Kathy (Bob) Rusler; sister, Joyce Jackson; and grandchildren, Annette, Julia, Jordan, Taylor, and Zachary. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruthie Allen.

Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 in Acton United Methodist Church, with calling from Noon, until time of services. Burial will be in Orchard Hill Cemetery.
