Philip R. Allen

76, of Lizton, passed away on May 31, 2014. He was born on August 19, 1937 to the late Roy and Eileen Violet Passehl Allen in Martinsville, IN. Philip retired from AT & T after 41 years of employment and was a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. He was a member of the U.S.A. Lieutenancy, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, Knights of Columbus, Santo Rosario, Council 14449 and the 4th Degree, Bishop Chatard Assembly No. 0245. Philip also served honorably in the United States Navy. He is survived by his children, Nyoka Castillo, Marty Allen (Diane), Kathleen Thomas (Tom), Michael Allen (Diane), Bridgett Herbert (Rodney) and Philip Allen; cousin, Pat Schreffler; very close friend, Mary Jane Braun; and 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather on Friday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home , 1458 S. Meridian St. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 520 Stevens St.; following visitation at 12:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the St. Vincent Foundation or the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
