Chef Soleil was born in Makoua, Congo-Brazzaville. He passed away after a Hemorrhagic Stroke at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley at the age of 45. A renowned African Chef who started at the Farmers Market and ended up at the Frog and Fiddle in Alameda. Chef Soleil crafted a unique and tasty Pan African cuisine that enticed the masses - With his big smile and warm personality, he will be missed badly. Chef Soleil is survived by his wife T.J. , his two daughters; Divine and Prudence; his mother, siblings, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services Saturday March 30, 2013 at 12 noon at the New Bridges Presbyterian Church, 26236 Adrian Ave., Hayward. His remains will be returned to his homeland; Congo-Brazzaville. For further information please call: Harry W. Greer, Funeral Director (FDR-745).

I met Soleil while working at the Bread Garden and remained friends with him for many years after we both had moved on. Soleil had such a great spirit and was a joy to be around. You will be missed my friend.
