Entered into rest on February 28, 2013 in Fremont, CA at the age of 89. Preceded in death by his wife Shirley Cornett on January 20, 2013, his daughter Dale Cornett in 2010, and his son-in-law Mark Rohrman in 2012. Devoted father to Dixie Rohrman of Fremont, Donna Cornett of Santa Rosa, and Darla Cornett-Ravella and her husband Bruce of Monte Rio. Treasured grandfather of Alexandra, Analise, and Anthony. Cherished brother of Fern Hawks. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born August 12, 1923 in Omaha, NE, Lester served in the Coast Guard during WWII from 1943-1946. He was a charter member of Swiss Park and was a lifetime member of the Alameda County Board of Realtors. He enjoyed traveling around the world, golfing, and animals.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 9:30am at Irvington Memorial Cemetery, 41001 Chapel Way, Fremont, CA 94538.
Donations may be made in memory of Lester to the East Bay SPCA, 8323 Baldwin St., Oakland, CA 94621.
