Helen Elizabeth Kostal Lanfear Oct. 6, 1921 - Mar. 12, 2016 Hayward Helen passed away on March 12, 2016 at the age of 94 and was born in Seattle, WA. She loved sewing, needle arts and rosemaling. Helen graduated from Oakland High School and attended Chabot College. She retired after 20 years as a beautician. Helen was a member of the Son's and Daughter's of Norway. She is survived by Penny Hicks & Adrian, Michael Lanfear and Jil Croll & Richard along with her 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Elida Mesa. Helen was preceded in passing by her loving husband Stan Lanfear of 56 years, 1 grandson, her 2 brothers and 2 sisters. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 30th at 2:00 pm. Laspina, Domenica Palma  
Domenica Palma Laspina April 5, 1925 - May 4, 2016 Resident of Castro Valley Pam was born in New Jersey, and traveled to California by Greyhound bus when she was 24 years old. There she met the love of her life, Custer (Al) Laspina and they married on July 2, 1950. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, daughters Donna Laspina (Johann Schroetner), Debra LaSpina Goldwater (Jeff Goldwater), son Riccardo La Spina; grandchildren Dena Peters, Dennis Peters, Danny Goldwater, Dori Goldwater; great-grand daughters Kylie and Keira Ebrahimi; sister Jo Spinardi, and other family members and friends who all loved her very much. Visitation will be on May 8, 2016 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. with the Vigil Service at 3:30 P.M. at Santos-Robinson Mortuary 160 Estudillo Ave. San Leandro. The Funeral Liturgy celebrating her life will be on May 9th at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Grace Church 3433 Somerset Ave. Castro Valley. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward. Lindley, Gary  
Gary Lindley July 4, 1936 - April 9, 2016 Lafayette With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Gary Lee Lindley of Lafayette, California. He passed away on April 9th, 2016 at Bruns House Hospice in Alamo. Gary was born in Nebraska on July 4th, 1936, and was raised in San Francisco. He graduated in 1953 from Lincoln High School where he played Varsity football. Gary subsequently joined the Navy and was deployed to Guam. After being discharged, he attended San Francisco City College where he studied Criminology. In 1963, he joined the San Francisco Police Department. Three years later he made a lateral transfer to the San Francisco Fire Department, where he retired as Lieutenant in 1989. At an early age, Gary formed a passion for building and rebuilding classic cars. He made a circle of life-long friends, who also shared the same passion. He led an active life of travel and adventure, and made memories with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Gail Hutton Lindley. He is also survived by his son Dennis and wife Paige; his daughter Patricia Howell; Kenny Hutton and wife Jeannie; Steve Hutton and wife Jennifer; his grandchildren Bryn and Kyle Lindley; Tess Harford Fields, Max Harford, Tara and Kia Howell, Hannah, Georgia, and Owen Hutton; Randy and Tyler Hutton; and great grandchild, Brenton Fields. The celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 28, 2016, Noon to 2:00 at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Center 3780 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA 94549. Sally Ann Lomba Jan. 17, 1947 - April 28, 2016 Resident of Union City Sally Ann Lomba, 69. Peacefully passed away on April 28, 2016 at Windsor Country Drive Care Center in Fremont, CA. She is survived by her son, Everett McGee and predeceased by her daughter, Dia Lezada and son, Quincy McGee. Lorusso, Deborah Kay  
Deborah Kay Lorusso Nov. 8, 1952 - March 29, 2016 Livermore Deborah Lorusso passed away unexpectedly on March 29, 2016. She leaves behind her devoted husband of over 40 years, Albert Lorusso. Deborah was born in San Diego, the youngest child of Oliver and Bessie Lee Akin. Along with her older brothers Larry, Ollie and Rocky, Deborah grew up with the warm California sunshine and the sounds of the Pacific Ocean which led to her lifelong appreciation of nature. She was close to her son Joe, his wife Lori and their two children, Joe Jr. and Sophia. The grandchildren always made the holidays special for her. Deborah also enjoyed time spent with her brother Larry and his companion Sandy and her brother-In-law John and his wife Shirley. Deborah had numerous nieces, nephews and friends who were also dear to her heart. Deborah worked as a hair stylist for over twenty years and then transitioned into dental office management for another twenty years. Her favorite activities included camping near the ocean, hiking, biking, reading, gardening and listening to jazz music. Her favorite hobby was caring for her dogs and cats. She always had a funny story to tell about her pets and along with her infectious laugh, one just had to smile along with her. A private Celebration of Life attended by family will be held. Cynthia Chun Lum Dec. 18, 1943 - Apr. 29, 2016 Resident of Foster City Cynthia Chun Lum, 72, of Foster City, CA passed away on April 29, 2016. She was born on December 18, 1943 to Peter and Muriel Toy. She was raised in Stockton, CA and previously resided in Fremont, CA. She worked as an Elementary School Teacher for the Fremont Unified School District from 1988-2006 and was awarded Teacher of the Year in Alameda County from 1996-1997. She was also a 2x recipient of the Christa McAuliffe Fellowship from the U.S. Dept. of Education 1992-1993/2001-2002. Cynthia deeply loved her family, friends, and students. She is survived by her husband Henry Lum; son Kevin Chun; daughter Annett Wright; brother Ronald Toy; grandsons Garrett & Harrison Wright; great-granddaughters Artemis & Elina Wright; sister-in-law Deanna Toy; son-in-laws Shaun Wright & Anthony Ng; nieces Andrea, Carolyn, Christina & Rhonda. Funeral service will be held at 10AM on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's Funeral Home, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA. Interment at Park View Cemetery in Manteca, CA.
