Vivian, Pamela Greer
Pamela Greer Vivian July 31, 1953 - Dec. 12, 2014 Resident of Castro Valley Pamela Greer Vivian, 61, passed away Dec. 12, 2014 in Castro Valley, CA. Pam was a devoted parent and provider to her daughter, Jennifer Franz. She was always available for roller skating and swimming lessons – whatever Jenny was involved with – Jenny was her priority. She was known among Jenny's friends as the go to person for "good advice." Pam met her husband, Rich Vivian, at a Friend of Bill's meeting in San Leandro. They were later married in Victoria, BC on Sept. 13, 1998. Pam's work career began at Safeway Stores Corporate headquarters, then to Liquor Barn, and ended at EDF (Environmental Defense Fund) where she worked more than 20 years. She was a loyal employee progressing through the ranks from secretary to Co-director of Administration, managing offices across the country – her favorite being New York City. Her biggest challenge and achievement was spearheading the EDF office move to San Francisco, which lead to a Gold Leed award. Pam enjoyed travel with her husband and daughter, gathering life-long friends along the way. Pam's favorite music was Blues until Rich introduced her to Jazz on a trip to Monterey. Rich also introduced her to her favorite vacation spot: Sea Ranch. Pam was hesitant about vacationing in a house with no TV, where wave watching and reading were the pastime, however, after one day, she never wanted to return to the Bay Area. Pam was born on July 31, 1953 in Richmond, CA to Joe and Hazel Greer. She is survived by her husband, Rich Vivian of Castro Valley, her daughter, Jennifer Franz of Castro Valley, her sister, Paula McCampbell of Dublin, CA, her brother, Larry Greer of Livermore, CA and much loved nieces and nephews. Pam's service will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends held on Sat., Jan. 10, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Vineyard Estates Mobile Home Rec Center, 3263 Vineyard Ave., Pleasanton, CA 94566. Pam's ashes will be spread at her beloved Sea Ranch.
