Angela Mary Arata

Angela Mary Arata June 22, 1917 June 3, 2013 Resident of Oakland Angela Arata passed away quietly at home in Oakland on June 3 at the age of 95. She was born and raised in Oakland and raised her family there. She is survived by her children James Arata of Oakland, Robert (Leonore) Arata of Oakland, and Linda Arata of Hayward. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kristin Arata and Elizabeth (Charlie) Walter and six great grandchildren: Devon, Benjamin, Nicholas, Chloe, Maggie and John Henry. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, James Arata, her brother John Badarello, daughter-in-law Joanne Arata and granddaughter Karin. Angela graduated from Emery High School in Emeryville. She was a member of the Bakery and Confectionery Union and worked at Langendorf Bakery for 26 years retiring in l975. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church for 56 years, and a member of the St. Theresa's Ladies' Guild. Angela greatly enjoyed attending dinners at the church hall given by the Italian-Catholic Federation. She, along with her husband James, took pleasure in trips with the Emeryville Seniors, occasional trips to the Reno-Lake Tahoe area and vists to their their cabin in Pollock Pines. In later years she looked forward to weekly visits from her beloved brother John and visits with her great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Donations may be made to a .
