Ann J. Chandler, 71, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at Alameda Healthcare and Wellness Center. Born in Bath, ME a daughter of the late Irving and Marcia (Petlock) Chandler, she had lived in Berkeley for 42 years. Ann was the Director of the Public Health Laboratory of Alameda County for 25 years and a council member for the City of Berkeley for 8 years. She was a member of PD Active, Lifelong Medical Care, National Women's Political Caucus, and Hadassah. Devoted mother of Michael Paul Fish of Berkeley, CA and David Eli Fish and his wife, Ami Fitch, of Weston, MO. Dear sister of Joe Chandler of FL, Elaine Hoffman of Providence, RI and Nada Chandler of Houston, TX. Loving grandmother of Maalik and Noah. Funeral services were held in RI. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to PD Active, P.O. Box 22923, Oakland, CA 94609. Shiva will be private. Arrangements by SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Cranston, RI.
