Born in Royal Oak, MI to the late Edmund and Ruth Ulricksen, Don was preceded in death by his first wife Helen Margaret and is survived by their two sons Jon Robert and Gil Raymond. Don remarried his beloved wife Bonnie Genine with her four children Dyanna, Michael, Jeffrey and Edward. Don was preceded in death by his only sibling Doreen Darimon. Don was a grandfather to Drew, Carly, Joey, David, Matthew, Andy, Amy, Jennifer, Brian, Dennyse and Nichole. Don also leaves twenty-six beautiful great-grandchildren.
Don served in the Army
at the Pusan Air Base in Korea during the occupation. He began his career as an Alameda Police Officer
and served from 1956 to 1984. His second career was at Golden Gate Fields as a security officer and he retired again in 1995. Don was a long time member of the Alameda Elks Club
BPOE 1015. Don's passion was all types of fishing and his later enjoyment of building fish ponds and raising and breeding quality Koi.
Family and friends may have a personal viewing and refreshments on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Greer Family Mortuary, 2694 Blanding Avenue, Alameda, CA. Final Resting place will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, CA. with full military honors.
