Gottfried (Fred) Gregor Roschitsch passed away in Rio Vista on Feb. 2, 2013. Born Sept. 12, 1926 and raised in Alameda, he was a native of California. Fred served in the US Army and was a World War II Vet. He worked for the City of Alameda, Bureau of Electricity for 38 years and retired in 1988. Fred was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and a fan of the 49ers and Giants. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was a good man who was always quick with a joke or to offer a helping hand.
Cherished and devoted husband of 63 years to Margaret Roschitsch. Loving father to Kathy Howard (Bill), Gregor Roschitsch (Christy), Debbie Roschitsch (fianc#233; David Naumann), and Donna Forman (Don). Adored grandfather to Billy Howard Jr. (Beth), Fred Howard (Eveline), Daniel Howard, Carey Zavala (Ralph), Alie Przeszlowski (Marcin), Jamie Ronsheimer (Eric), Beckie Alcantara and Travis Baugh. Dear great-grandfather to 9.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Philip Neri's Church, 3108 Van Buren, Alameda, CA on Monday, February 11 at 3:30 pm. Private interment: Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
