Julius La Quaglia Red

Julius (RED) La Quaglia Feb. 4, 1925 - June 9, 2013 Resident of Castro Valley Red was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1925 to Italian immigrant parents. He is a proud Marine who served his country in WWII in the Pacific theater. In 1958, he bought Upper Grove Auto Repair in Castro Valley, which he operated for 50 years. Red was an active community leader in Castro Valley. He served as President of the Rotary Club, was a Fire Commissioner, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Moose Lodge, and Elks Club. He is survived by his wife, Iris and had 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great- grandchildren. A memorial will be held this Saturday the 15th, 11:00 am following a flag ceremony at the Castro Valley Veterans Memorial, Castro Valley Community Park located at Quail Ave. and Seven Hills Road.
