Mabel Miller passed away peacefully in Fremont, CA, on March 27, 2013, at the age of 97.
She was born in San Lorenzo, CA, and was proud to be a native daughter. She attended Hayward High School and graduated in 1933. In September of 1943 she married Vernon Miller after meeting him at a USO Dance in Oakland.
She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of San Lorenzo for over 60 years. She enjoyed baking, crochet, crossword puzzles and watching her Oakland A's.
Mabel is survived by her devoted sons Richard (Lorraine) of Hayward and Robert (Becky) of Dublin, granddaughter Amanda Parmer of Vista, sister Lillian Kopet of San Leandro, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased in death by her loving husband Vernon.
Her spunk, sharp wit, amazing memory and captivating smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 5-9 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, and a funeral service on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at First Southern Baptist Church, 15503 Usher Street, San Lorenzo. Burial to follow at Chapel of the Chimes.
In lieu of flowers charitable contributions in Mabel's name can be made to First Southern Baptist Church of San Lorenzo.
