Miriam was born to Cedric Gordon Taylor, DDS, and Edith Chalmers in Stockton, California. She was a life long Oakland resident and a member if St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She is survived by her brothers C. Gordon Taylor (Gayle) and John Richard Taylor (Carol). She was aunt to Stephanie Tyson (George) and Alison Calderon (Marty), Mark Taylor (Lori) and Scott Taylor; Great Aunt to Alexander, Gregory and Natalie Tyson; Caitlin and Kelsey Trester; Alexander, Chelsie, Kevin and Katelyn Taylor. She is also survived by many cousins in the Stockton and Bay Area. Upon graduation from U.C. Berkeley her entire 35 year teaching career was devoted to the education of grammar school children in the San Leandro and San Lorenzo school districts. In addition to her passion for all things related to the education of young children, she had a keen interest in orchid horticulture. At her request there will be no memorial service. Her ashes will be interred with those of her parents at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco. Rememberances in Miriam's name may be made to Breast Cancer Prevention Fund, 438 E.
